Seasonal Fun and Exciting Events in and Around the Snowy Monaro Region, New South Wales, Australia

The Snowy Monaro region in New South Wales, Australia, is a beautiful place to visit throughout the year. From skiing and snowboarding in the snowy season to hiking and mountain biking in the warmer months, there is always an outdoor activity to enjoy.

But what about events? There are plenty of fun and exciting events that take place in and around the Snowy Monaro region, and we've rounded up a few of our favorites.

Winter

Winter is probably the most popular time to visit the Snowy Monaro region, as it is home to some of the best skiing and snowboarding in Australia. Here are a few events to check out during the winter months:

1. Peak Music Festival - This three-day festival is held in Jindabyne and features some of Australia's top musicians and DJs. There are also food trucks, market stalls, and a variety of winter sports to try.

2. Snowies MTB Festival - If skiing and snowboarding aren't your thing, why not try your hand at mountain biking? The Snowies MTB Festival is a three-day event that takes place in February and features cross-country and downhill races for all skill levels.

3. Perisher Peak Festival - This four-day festival takes place in early June and is a celebration of music, art, and winter sports. There are plenty of live performances, art shows, and workshops to participate in.

Spring

Spring is a beautiful time to visit the Snowy Monaro region, as the snow begins to melt and the flowers start to bloom. Here are a few events to check out during the spring months:

1. Snowy Mountains Trout Festival - This two-week event takes place in October and is a fishing competition for all ages. The festival also features live music and plenty of food stalls.

2. Adaminaby Easter Fair - Held in April, the Adaminaby Easter Fair is a family-friendly event that includes market stalls, a petting zoo, live music, and plenty of Easter-themed activities.

3. Snowy Mountains Country Music Festival - This three-day festival takes place in November and features some of Australia's top country music artists. There are also market stalls, food trucks, and other entertainment throughout the weekend.

Summer

Summer in the Snowy Monaro region is all about outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, and water sports. Here are a few events to check out during the summer months:

1. Cooma Cup Race Day - This annual horse racing event takes place in January and is a great day out for families and friends. There are plenty of food and drink stalls, as well as live entertainment.

2. Dalgety Show - The Dalgety Show is held in February and celebrates the local community in and around Dalgety. There are plenty of agricultural displays, food vendors, and entertainment for all ages.

3. Tumbarumba Rodeo - This annual event takes place in January and is a must-visit for rodeo fans. There are plenty of competitions, including bull riding, barrel racing, and calf roping.

Autumn

Autumn in the Snowy Monaro region is a beautiful time of year, with the changing colors of the leaves and cooler temperatures. Here are a few events to check out during the autumn months:

1. Bombala Bike Show - Held in March, the Bombala Bike Show is a celebration of all things motorcycle-related. There are plenty of vendors selling motorcycle gear, as well as live music and other entertainment.

2. Snowy River Festival - This three-day festival takes place in April and celebrates the local community and culture. There are plenty of food vendors, live music, and other entertainment for all ages.

3. Numeralla Folk Festival - The Numeralla Folk Festival takes place in April and features some of Australia's top folk musicians. There are also plenty of food and drink vendors, and other entertainment throughout the weekend.
